Your complete walkthrough for setting up and managing a 360° feedback assessment
Understanding the 360° feedback process
A 360° assessment gathers feedback about an individual (the interviewee) from multiple perspectives — their managers, peers, direct reports, clients, and even from themselves. This multi-source feedback provides a comprehensive view of performance, strengths, and development areas.
Set your company name, branding, and assessment preferences.
Name your assessment, add a description, and set deadlines.
Upload participants via CSV or add them manually one by one.
Choose which participants will be the focus of 360° feedback.
For each interviewee, assign raters from different categories (peers, managers, etc.).
Review and edit the survey questions, or use AI to generate new ones.
Launch the assessment and send email invitations to all raters.
Monitor response rates and send reminders as needed.
Review detailed analytics and generate AI-powered feedback reports.
Setting up your organisation before creating assessments
Before creating your first assessment, you should configure your company settings. Navigate to:
Or click Company Settings from the Assessment Dashboard, or access it from the dropdown menu under Company Admin.
Your organisation's name as it will appear on assessments and reports.
Contact information and organisational details for your company profile.
Setting up a new 360° feedback campaign
From the 360° Assessment Dashboard, click the New Assessment button in the top right corner.
Fill in the following information:
Once created, your assessment appears as a card on the Dashboard showing:
Draft, Active, Closed, or Completed
Total number of people added
How many are being assessed
Due date if you've set one
Each assessment card has quick-action buttons:
Adding the people who will be involved in the assessment
The quickest way to add many participants is by uploading a CSV file. From the assessment's Participant Setup page, use the CSV upload panel on the left.
Your CSV file should contain the following columns:
| Column | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| firstName | Participant's first name | |
| lastName | Participant's last name | |
| Valid email address for sending invitations | ||
| position | Job title or role (optional but recommended) |
firstName,lastName,email,position Jane,Smith,jane.smith@company.com,Marketing Director John,Doe,john.doe@company.com,Sales Manager Alice,Johnson,alice.j@company.com,HR Business Partner Bob,Williams,bob.w@company.com,Software Engineer
If you only have a few people to add, or need to add someone after the initial upload, use the manual entry form:
The right side of the setup page shows all your participants in a table with:
Configuring who gets assessed and by whom
An interviewee is a participant who will be the subject of 360° feedback. Not everyone needs to be an interviewee — some participants may only serve as raters.
To designate someone as an interviewee:
Each interviewee can receive feedback from five different rater categories. This multi-perspective approach is what makes 360° feedback so powerful.
People who supervise or manage the interviewee. Typically their direct line manager or skip-level managers.
Colleagues at a similar level who work alongside the interviewee. They provide a lateral perspective.
People who report directly to the interviewee. They offer valuable "upward" feedback on leadership style.
Internal or external clients and stakeholders who interact with the interviewee regularly.
The interviewee rates themselves. This allows comparison between self-perception and others' feedback.
Click on an interviewee's name in the Interviewee Summary table, or click the Setup button. This takes you to the Interviewee Setup page.
Customising the questions raters will answer
Surveys in NorthBridge360 use a hierarchical structure designed around behavioural science best practices:
The broadest groupings of competencies (e.g., "Leadership", "Communication", "Strategic Thinking"). These are the top-level categories in your survey.
Specific competency areas within each meta-dimension (e.g., under "Leadership": "Vision Setting", "Team Empowerment", "Decision Making").
Observable qualities within each competency (e.g., under "Vision Setting": "Articulates clear goals", "Inspires with a compelling future vision").
The actual survey questions that raters will answer, tied to specific traits. Each item is scored on a 1–5 scale.
From your assessment card on the Dashboard, click Surveys, or navigate from the participants page using the top navigation links.
Click on a survey to open the Survey Editor. Here you can:
Modify the text of any existing question to better suit your organisation's context and terminology.
Add new questions to any trait within the survey structure.
Use the Suggest Question feature to let AI generate contextually relevant questions based on the trait and competency.
Not happy with a question? Use Regenerate to get a fresh AI-generated alternative.
